Walking in Edale, anyone check the forecast before we left?

Walking in the Peak District is wonderful, the scenery is fantastic, the people are friendly and it is great exercise. Unfortunately, being in England the weather can get a bit nasty and with little warning. The pictures below don’t really do the conditions justice. Suffice to say that when we are standing at odd angles, we are not drunk but are obliged to stand like that to avoid being blown down (and we were literally blown down on several occasions). Added to this we had driving rain and hail that stung through your clothes.

By the time we got the the pub, we were all soaked and caked in mud but had mainly had a great time. We were then able to amuse ourselves by watching even wetter people coming in to dry themselves by the fire. After lunch we had the 2 hour train journey back to Nottingham to sleep in preparation for the 14 bar fancy dress crawl we were to embark on that evening.
